Just got my new free radical kit installed on my KHS Urban Xtreme. Can't wait to take it for a spin.

Adding up those carbon credits!

Another great day to commute to work and increase my carbon credits! I have biked in three days this week and the weather was very nice in the upper 80's. In the morning ride home it has been around 60, which is great biking weather, but I just work a tank top in and it was a little on the chilly side. My KHS urban xtreme is the perfect commuting bike for me. I love this bike! I am thinking about making it an xtracycle soon. If you are not familiar with xtracycle, then check out their link HERE. I hope to get in some more biking miles in towards the end of the week.

Getting my carbon credits!

I have biked to work the past few days and the weather has been great! I love this time of year to bike. If you want to keep track of your mileage from your commute to work, just check out the website World Commute to track your progress. So far this month I have saved 7 gallons of gas, $17.46 in money saved, and 143 lbs. of carbon I did not emit in the air. I am working on a list of bike websites that may be helpful for your viewing. I should be done with those soon.

Drysack in the bike bag.

Here is a view of the Drysack in my bike bag. Leaves pleanty of room for other items or I can take up the whole bag with it. This is a nice thing to add to you bicycle commute equipment.

How I carry my clothes when it rains.

When it calls for rain on my bicycle commute, I carry my clothes in this drysack since my pack is not water proof. You can find these for about $8 at your local sporting good store and at some Wal-mart stores. It is cheaper than buying water proof bags. When not in use it folds up very small and can be used when ever it is needed. It fits into the pack rather nicely and no more wet clothes!

Bike in the rain?

Another great day to ride in today with the exception of the wind blowing like crazy. I have become used to the wind on my commute to work, but I don't like it. It's crazy to have a head wind going to work and going home! The past two weeks we have had over 7 inches of rain and it is not fun biking in the rain. The forecast calls for rain in the morning, so I brought my rain gear with me. I hope I don't need it. I do enjoy the commute to work because I find it very relaxing and helps me melt my worries away. You should try it sometime!

Very windy today!

My third day this week to commute to work. It feels great to be back in the saddle! The wind was blowing hard today and I spent a lot of time on my middle chain ring today. I still made good time, but was getting very tired of the wind. I hope to continue the commute next week.

Back to commuting to work

I have been riding quite a bit lately on my single speed bike around town, but have not did the commute to work. Yesterday and today the weather was great for commuting to work so I had to start back my 22 mile ride. The wind has been real bad lately and the last two days the wind has been at my face both ways to work. Maybe that will change soon. I rode in today on my KHS Urban Xtreme, which is my commuter bike. It is a real work horse for that task and I love riding it. With my Origin 8 space bars and Ergon grips, it is quite a comfortable ride. I will try to post some new images soon.

I have not had to deal with using any lights due to the time I have been riding in. I will have to put my lights back on next week for the morning ride in. I just hate getting up at 4 am to get on the bike. I think the hardest part of the commute is getting up! I sure do feel good the whole day when I bike in. You should try it sometime!
